How to change watch face on an Apple Watch?
To change the watch face on your Apple Watch:
Press and hold the current watch face until you feel a tap and see the watch face selector.
Swipe left or right to browse saved watch faces.
Tap the one you want to use.
To add a new watch face:
Press and hold the current face, then swipe all the way to the right and tap the plus (+) button.
Scroll through available faces, tap to select and customize it.
Tap Add to save it.
You can also change and add watch faces from the Watch app on your paired iPhone by going to the Face Gallery, selecting a face, customizing it, and adding it to your watch.
Optionally, enable "Swipe to Switch Watch Face" in your watch's Settings > Clock to quickly switch faces by swiping left or right on the watch screen.
Are Apple Watches waterproof?
Apple Watches are water-resistant, not fully waterproof. Starting from the Apple Watch Series 2, models have a water resistance rating of up to 50 meters under the ISO 22810:2010 standard, making them suitable for swimming in pools and shallow ocean water. However, they should not be used for scuba diving, waterskiing, or high-velocity water activities. The Apple Watch Ultra models are more rugged, with a resistance up to 100 meters and are suitable for recreational scuba diving. Water resistance can diminish over time, and Apple advises rinsing the watch with fresh water after exposure to saltwater or chlorine. Damage from water is not covered by Apple's warranty.
How to turn off an Apple Watch?
To turn off your Apple Watch, press and hold the side button (below the Digital Crown) until the power off slider appears. Then, swipe the Power Off slider to the right to shutdown the watch. Make sure the watch is not charging, as it cannot be turned off while charging. To turn it back on, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo. If the watch is unresponsive, you can force restart it by holding both the side button and Digital Crown for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
How to unpair an Apple watch?
To unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone:
Keep your iPhone and Apple Watch close.
Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
Go to the My Watch tab, tap All Watches.
Tap the info (i) button next to the watch you want to unpair.
Select Unpair Apple Watch, then confirm.
If you have a cellular model, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan.
Enter your Apple ID password to disable Activation Lock.
The watch will back up to your iPhone and then erase itself, ending the connection.
If you don't have the iPhone, you can erase directly on the watch in Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings, but this won't create a backup or disable Activation Lock.
Unpairing ensures the watch is erased, backed up, and ready for a new setup or owner.
How to reset an Apple Watch?
To reset an Apple Watch, you have two main options:
- Soft reset (restart without data loss):
Press and hold the side button until the Power Off slider appears, then slide to turn off.
Turn it back on by holding the side button until the Apple logo appears.
If frozen, press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
- Factory reset (erase all content and settings):
On the watch, go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
Enter your passcode and confirm.
Alternatively, unpair the watch from your iPhone via the Watch app to erase it and back up data.
If the passcode is forgotten, place the watch on the charger, hold the side button until the power off screen, then hold the Digital Crown to access the erase option.
This returns the watch to factory state, ready for new setup or to be sold.
