How to reset Microsoft Surface Pro?
Here is the quick guide to resetting your Surface Pro.
Method 1: If you can log in (Easiest)
Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security (or System on Windows 11).
Select Recovery.
Next to "Reset this PC," click Get Started (or Reset PC).
Choose Keep my files or Remove everything and confirm.
Method 2: If you are locked out (Forgot Password)
On the Sign-in screen, press and HOLD the Shift key.
While holding Shift, click the Power icon > Restart.
Release Shift when the blue menu appears.
Select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Remove everything.
Method 3: If Windows won't start (USB Recovery)
On a different PC, download the Surface Recovery Image for your specific model and unzip the files onto a formatted USB drive (FAT32).
Insert the USB into your Surface while it is off.
Press and HOLD Volume Down, then press and release Power.
Release Volume Down when the Surface logo appears.
Select Recover from a drive.
