Description
We use 100% Afghan Ghazni Wool which is hand spun and hand dyed using natural colouring.
The northern Afghan mountains give the wool a high fat content, making it more durable.
This results in characterful Afghan wool rugs that are both strong and beautiful.
All pieces are hand woven on traditional looms in the homes of the weavers in the
Afghanistan region of Aqcha and Andkhoi. Natural vegetable dyes, organic and
non-organic dyes are used to achieve vivid and varied colour palettes. Each
piece is transported to Pakistan for washing and finishing. They are expertly
finished using traditional techniques.
In 1 sqm of a Sultani rug there would be around 140,000 – 160,000 knots.
Care Instructions:
Use suction vacuum only. Avoid rotating brushes which could damage wool fibres.
Use a good quality rug underlay to help protect your rug.
