Austrian painter Gustav Klimt produced a series of landscapes throughout his career inspired by his summer vacations spent in the picturesque town of Salzkammergut in Austria. In 1901, he produced the oil painting ‘Tannenwald (Fir Forest) I’, featuring a sea of orange-tinted trees rendered in a strict vertical rhythm. The dazzling surface reflects Klimt’s decorative tendencies.
